Lit in 1904, San Isidro lighthouse is part of a chain of eight century old lighthouses placed along the shores of the Strait of Magellan. In the restored lighthouse (2004) a site museum is being out fitted, in order to know about the rich history of the area, from the prehistoric events (glaciations and settlement of the original Kaweshkar native populations), to the historical highlights (Strai of Magellan Discovery, Scientific Explorations (HMS Beagle and Charles Darwin), local Flora and Fauna, Magellan Whaling station, Strait of Magellan Lighthouses.
